The East End Stage 2 project in Newcastle focused on the restoration and enhancement of the precinct’s historic architecture.

Our team was engaged to complete extensive heritage brickwork, blockwork, and a significant amount of remedial works to reinstate the original character of the area.

A major component of the scope involved carefully redoing the heritage façades to maintain their structural integrity and visual authenticity, ensuring the finished work complemented Newcastle’s historic streetscape.

Duration & Scope

The works spanned the full duration of the East End Stage 2 construction phase, involving close coordination with other trades to deliver high-quality finishes while preserving heritage elements. The scope included:

• Heritage bricklaying using traditional techniques and materials.
• Structural blockwork for new and refurbished sections.
• Remedial works to address deterioration and defects in existing façades.
• Restoration of multiple heritage façades to match original detail and appearance.

Challenges & Achievements

The project presented several challenges, primarily centred on working within strict heritage guidelines while meeting modern building standards.
